HHS National Honor Society

On December 18th, the Huntington High School Chapter of National Honor Society helds its induction ceremony. Congratulations to new members Brooklyn Akers, Paige Bode, Sean Davis, Roni Lytle, Ava Potter, Araya Smith, Madelyn Smith, Tucker Taylor and Alexis Wright. Current members include President Kaci Carroll, Vice President Kolten Oyer, Secretary Savannah Bushatz, Treasurer Blake McComis, Historian Allie Baker, Blake Hauswirth, Brayden Hauswirth, Jackson Kohls, and Jack Williams.

The Purposes of NHS as found in the National Constitution…

1.    To create enthusiasm for Scholarship

2.    To stimulate a desire to render Service

3.    To promote Leadership

4.    To develop Character in students of Secondary Schools.”

“The Society’s motto is ‘Noblesse Oblige’, meaning ‘nobility obligates’. In broader terms, it means those who have the obligation to behave honorable, generously, and responsibly to others.”

Membership in the National Honor Society is both an honor and a responsibility. Students selected for membership are expected to continue to demonstrate the qualities of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.” The faculty council selects Junior and Senior Huntington Students based on 92% cumulative grade point average, attendance, service, leadership, and character.
