Our Varsity Boys will begin Tournament play tonight at 8:00 at the Waverly High School Downtown Gym. If you was here Friday night and was a part of the AWESOME STUDENT CHEERING SECTION, you must know how much spirit and support that lent to the game. You WERE a part of the team. The players and coaches appreciated it so much. We hope to have a good section of supporters as our Boys in Green begin the Tournament Trail. Advance tickets are available in the High School Office for $5.00. Let’s make the TWP proud!
Attention 6th and 7th graders… If you would like to work in the Student-Run Credit Union next year, we have applications in the office for students who will be entering 7th and 8th grades. Various jobs are available. They will be hiring a Branch Manager, Member Service Representative, Teller, Bookkeeper and Data Entry Specialist. Don’t forget, if you make a transaction every Wednesday during the month of February, you could win a $20 Visa Gift Card.
It’s time for the 2019 Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library’s Poetry Contest. Any student from Kindergarten through 12th grade is eligible to participate. The contest begins Feb. 1st and the deadline for the final entry is Friday March 1. Categories and grades are K-2, Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8 and High School. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners and Honorable Mentions in each category will be notified and given an invitation to attend a reception held in their honor on April 10th at 6:00. They will receive a certificate, a copy of this year’s book and an opportunity to read their poems at the reception. Any form (Piku, Haiku, Free Verse, Limericks etc.) is accepted.
Attention 7th and 8th grade boys who are not currently playing basketball… You are welcome to come to baseball hitting practice beginning this week. Hitting will be after school in the Elementary Gym every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Cheerleading try-outs for Jr. High and High School for the 2019-20 school year will be Saturday March 2nd from 10:00-2:00. Clinics prior to try-outs will be Monday Feb. 25th, Tuesday Feb. 26th and Thursday Feb. 28th from 4:306:30. Try-out Packets for those interested are in the office.
